Marketing and promotion

The Fourth of July box office has more at stake than just your average weekend. This year’s holiday movies have a lot riding on them with only two months left in 2017. The success of some upcoming films could mean life or death for other projects, especially when you consider how much they cost to make and market. Already summer blockbusters like Wonder Woman and Transformers: The Last Knight have underperformed, while others like The Dark Tower were downright disasters. We could see Hollywood quickly shift away from big-budget spectacles as studios realize that big stars don’t always equate to good movies.
